Those certainly had a lot more death in them than I remember. And sort of different morals and endings than I expected.

Interesting story. Definitely seemed to capture the author’s intention of a modern fairy tale.

It seemed easier to read than Alice in Wonderland. I guess I prefer some sort of plot.

I don’t remember language like that in the fairy tales when I was a kid. Wikipedia says one old meaning was “kitchen maid or drudge” although the promiscuous woman definition is also pretty old.
